Where I'm From
Where I’m From
I’m from where it’s a vast and a rugged land
Where everyone say they are “extremely polite” (sometimes they’re right)
The cold freezes my lashes, I get sick for ages
going to school in the winter is my weakness
Walking in the depths of white, even though it’s shining through the sunlight
Empty trees in the winter, waiting for the summer leaves.
Where I am from makes me feel like I am at home
my mom and dad told me we’re going where it isn’t a vast and a frosty land
Since I was 4 years old, I didn’t understand.
A country where I kept quiet, but the heat is not wanting me to walk on the streets
My eyes wondering out of sight, the sun is too bright
Along the way, I realize this can be my home, and this is where I can roam.
Even if I was here for 21 days, it was my home
When we had to leave, I can still believe that I am coming back to this country….
A home that I’ll love over the years
Who cares if I was not born in that country,
Who cares if I am not a citizen of that country
Anything can be my home,
Anything can be your home
just think of it as your home.
My country will always be my home,
but the country I went to, will always be my second home
Canada and Philippines are my dearest homes.
