The House that Became Home

A home can be a house. Home can be a place or feeling. Home can be anything. It is not something you force on someone. It takes time and effort to make it your own. Home is something you know. Something you feel. For me, it is a feeling of security. Where you know, no matter who, you are safe. it protects me from the wind, snow, and rain. My family is my home and will also protect me. I sometimes feel scared inside my home but I know that it's okay, because I'm home. A home doesn't need to be big or fancy. It doesn't need to be a house or building. It just needs to be home. Everybody has a different home because everybody is different. Home is where the heart is. A place you share memories with loved ones. Where there are memories in the walls and memories to come. Sad ones. Happy ones. Fun ones. It is a place where you live and grow. Learn and laugh. Home is forever in your heart. You will never forget about home. You know your home. Down to the peeling paint to the creaky stairs. At first, home is just a space. A space you don't know. Over time, it becomes your space. Your home. For me it's the place I can get advice from my parents. They help my house feel like a home. The place I now I am loved. Everyone deserves a chance to make a place their home. So I am happy that Habitat for Humanity is helping people find a space for them. A place they can share memories. A place they will remember forever. The house that becomes a home.
