There's No Place Like Home

Home is a place where I feel safe. Home is a place where you can have family over for dinner and watch movies. Where I can listen to my dad play the piano and I sing along. A place where my family and I can curl up by the fire on a hot summer night. That is home. I text my friends and invite them over for a sleepover while my parents are out by the fire. We have fun giggling until we can't feel our faces anymore. Sometimes I sit down with my kittens beside me and read a nice book in my pajamas. That's what I call home. I like to cook with my mom in the kitchen. We make cookies and peanut butter balls. Me and mom have so much fun and afterwards we always have flour all over our faces. That is home. I love to play volleyball with my friends. We always have so much fun making up different serves and ways to hit the ball. That is my happy place. Me and my dad love to watch shows in the basement. But most of all we love to watch Doctor Who. We curl up on the nice warm couch with a cup of hot cocoa and some yummy buttery popcorn. Sometimes I sneak some mini chocolate bars to share with him. That is home. I love going on nice long nature walks. I hear the humming birds sing pretty songs above my head. That is home. But most of all home is where I can spend time with family and friends, be creative and imaginative without being judged. Thank you for the food in front of us, the family beside us and the love between us. That's my home!
