Safe

What is home to you and why? Well for me, I never had a home. I had a house but not a home. For the longest time I never had a home to feel safe in. There was always yelling, screaming, and crying. Yeah, there was happy moments like me staying over at my cousin’s house across the street. It was always a fun time staying over at her place but now she lives in Alberta. One Christmas Eve, me, my brother, and my mom got locked out because of my dad. I am not going to say more. But now I moved away, and I feel free now. I now have a home, a place to feel safe in, a place to feel happy in. Back then, the rez felt more like a home then my house. I always loved going out there. It was like my happy place. When I was younger, me, and my other cousins went to the rez for Easter. We had an egg hunt. Fun times! Well, that is it I don’t have anything else to share. I am grateful for the home I have now!
