Meaning of Home

I see the faint light of the lamp in the morning. I see my parents reading their Bibles. I see my sisters cuddling my cats. I come home from school and see my mom preparing dinner and my sisters playing games. I see smiling faces when we play a family board game. I see a happy family in a happy home. I smell delicious chicken wafting from the kitchen and the sharp smell of freshly cut lettuce. I smell pumpkin candles and popcorn for our family movie night. I smell the soft smell of my newly washed blankets. I smell happiness from my home. I hear laughter from my parents. I hear my cats meowing to be let outside. I hear guitar music as I fall asleep. I hear happiness in the air. I taste my grandma’s sausage buns and her gashtel soup. I taste my mom’s homemade pizza. I taste a Boston cream doughnut my dad bought for me. I taste happiness in my home. I feel the soft blanket my great grandma made for me. I feel the warm evening light wash me down from head to toe. I feel my mom and dad’s warm hugs. I feel the soft binding of my books. I feel happiness in my home. Home is where your heart is. If your heart is in things like money, video games, movies and shows and books, your home is there. If your heart is in relationships with family and friends, your home is there, because home is where your heart is.
