Ode to My Home

What’s a memory of home A home, a home, shelter A home with security A home that doesn't falter Under insecurity Touch, Smell, Feel your home Feel the presence of the place you know Feel it like it's your own, the home you know The one you’ve known all your life A home is a place that is your own Unlike a house, you hardly know Don’t treat it like an ice cream cone It’s a house, a house that won’t be blown A home of memories A place to store your groceries The place you’ll always throw your parties For centuries and centuries Your home is full of love and warmth Even if it’s in the East or North It doesn’t matter what it’s worth As long as it’s your favorite place on earth Home may not be a safe space But don’t speed at a fast pace But if I listen to your case I might not want to move to another place It doesn’t matter if I’m not smart As long as I have a big heart I don’t need to restart If I keep in my heart Being smart, doesn’t define how you are in your heart My life isn’t a pattern It’s my family that matters It doesn’t matter If I live on Saturn, it’s my home that matters My home is my shelter Through a storm Or when it's warm Through it all, My home is my shelter.
