Meaning of Home
Home means to me, a place I can rest and feel safe from the outside world. Home is where I can learn from a safe place, Without getting humiliated. Home is where I can cry and let out all my emotions. In my home I can bloom and branch out, to try new things. Home is where I laugh at my dads cringy jokes. Home is where I eat my moms Korean meals she cooks! To be honest my mom did an amazing job at feeding me. Home also means having to do chores. That includes my least favorite chore, DOING THE DISHES. Most of the time I neglect the rubber gloves we use to do the dishes, so I just use my hands. That was a bad idea. I touched something so slimy, wet, sticky, filthy, disgusting and something so foul, I can’t find words to describe it. At home I can express who I really am on the inside. Home has my two most treasured items, books and electronics! The smell of books fill the air every time I open the white cabinet in the living room, full of books of many genres! My personal favorite book is: Harry potter and the goblet of fire! I like to text my friends on snapchat. The leader of our home is my mother. She is like an alpha female of the pack. If she says I want you to do math, read, study, clean or watch a movie, so be it. Nothing goes past her. Home is different from a house. A house is a structure that you go in that supplies warmth and shelter. Home is a place you feel safe and loved. Sadly some people don't have homes. My dad works at Union gospel mission. At UGM they help homeless people access bathrooms, showers, laundry machines, food and water. They also help teach the word of God. At UGM, we give homeless people another chance to start over. My house is not just a home, but a place where I'll grow up to become a strong and smart young woman. That's what home means to me.
