Meaning of Home
Where is your home? I have two houses, but I have four homes. Two homes are my mom’s house and my dad’s house, but when I think of home, it’s not just the houses. I think of community too. The last two homes are school and the UCRO’s (my swim team - yes, I'm a swimmer!). Now, you are probably wondering what UCRO stands for? The Upper Canada River Otters, to be exact. Now onto the real deal.
H.
H stands for happiness, happiness is my mom’s house. I have my own room, it’s small but I like it that way. At my mom’s house we have a cat named Sunshine, but we usually call her Bubba. Although she has a lot of nicknames but that is a common one. She is the reason I call my mom’s house happiness. If I could go everywhere with her I would. She is always waiting for me when I come home. At my mom’s house it’s just me, my mom, my sister and Bubba of course. Until me and my sister go to our dad’s then it’s just my mom and Bubba. I love my mom’s house because it’s where I grew up! Although my mom is always trying new things for dinner.
O.
O stands for opportunities, opportunities are at my school! I love my school! At school, we get so many opportunities! Like right now I'm writing for the Meaning of Home! I'm in sixth grade and have fun with all my teachers and classmates. We are doing the play Frozen and I'm very excited to be in a big play! Also, we are going on a ski trip. I love going to school and seeing all my friends there each morning!
M.
M stands for mental health. Swimming is good for my mental health. At swimming I can be myself. I get to see my friends and do the sport I love. Once I get to swimming, I feel free and motivated and I feel like myself. I love to swim. I have an amazing coach and head coach. I'm in bronze, moving up soon and I'm so excited. We usually have a swim meet once a month! I go to swimming three times a week and five hours a week. I'm on the best swim team ever!
E.
E stands for Embrace, embrace is my dad’s house. I love sitting in my room and doing crafts and organizing my room. I am obsessed with cleaning and organizing my room, it is so calming. The reason I choose embrace is because my dad loves to explore nature. He loves taking us hiking, tobogganing, and paddle boarding. From cliff jumping, to swimming on Easter in the lake, it’s all stuff to embrace! It’s memory making and I love it! Every summer we explore and every summer we embrace what we do. Same with the winter! I love my dad’s adventures!
There it is everyone, HOME the essay! Now, go have fun with your family and friends, bye! The End!
