What Home Means to Me

Everyone should have a home but not everyone does. I am so thankful that I have a home. My home is where I feel safe, loved, and that I belong. My home is also where I have lots of memories. I have lots of memories like one from my last home of me and my friends going on bike rides on trails. Home is where I have my own space. Did you know that lots of people think that a home and a house are the same thing? But, a home is so much more. You don’t even need a building to feel at home. My home is always warm in the winter and it is cool in the summer. At night I have a comfortable bed to sleep in. Many families celebrate special days in unique ways. My family celebrates Christmas on December 25th. On Christmas eve we go to church and have our Christmas concert than we go to one of our family houses for dinner. After dinner we exchange gifts. On Christmas day we have a big family breakfast than we either go somewhere else or we stay at our house and our family comes over. It’s traditions and memories like the ones I described that make a house feel like a home. Thanks to habitat for humanity for building houses that can become homes for people that don’t have homes. I think homes are very important and everyone should have one.
