What does home mean to me?
Safety, security, stability. The three words we use to define home. But what it home, really? What does it mean? Well, this is what the word home really means to me.
When I get picked up from school at the end of the day, I know that at home, there is always a snack for me in the kitchen, or a bed to sleep in. Home provides me with many facilities, and each day, I look forward to coming home. I could describe it as a comfort zone, a place to unwind after a long day, our simply put, a shelter. To me, it soon becomes the birthplace of many memories that I cherish to this day.
However, my home is very important to me. Firstly, it provides protection, and a place of safety. To me, it doesn’t matter if a home is fancy, big, or small. To me, it matters that home is a kind of sanctuary, or a place to feel secure. Each day, I think about the many people today who, sadly, don’t have a home to feel stable or generate memories in.
To conclude, home is where I can be myself, and I would like to summarize my meaning of home, with a popular but meaningful short quote: There is no place like home.
