The Mountain Top
The sunset was like a beautiful flame with radiant colours but produced no warmth. The car lights blink like batting eyelashes but some flicker like a dying lamp. A distant sound of quiet chattering from the kids nearby fills my ears as I think of my childhood days. Cheerful laughter fills me with joy knowing the world is peaceful and still has some sense of humanity. The fresh aroma of cookies from the nearby couple reminds me of a sweet sugary treat like the ones I used to make. The strong scent of flower fragrances floating through the air hits me like a summer breeze. The humid air traps me with every breath, trapping me like a net. I feel calm and at peace when I hear the birds sing on the vibrant trees. The joy in my heart takes everything off my mind as I wonder what my life would be like if this wasn't my home. I am happy and relaxed knowing I can come back everyday to this place. There is no other place called home.
