Home. Not a house, a Home.
Home, not a house, a Home. Home, the place where I feel safe, warm, calm, peaceful, and loved. When my teacher announced that we were doing this contest, I realized that a home is not just a house and furniture, a home is a place you feel comfortable. A place where you feel good about yourself. A place where you can trust and love. Relatives and pets can always make it feel like home. When I cuddle up on the couch on weekend mornings, my cat comes and snuggles up next to me, I feel at home. When I’m onstage and I’m about to say the first line of the whole show, I feel home. I feel home when I’m doing a plie at the ballet bar or doing a funky pose in hip-hop. I am at home when I solve the mystery in a game of clue.
Sometimes when I’m walking around downtown Guelph, I see homeless people and I feel really bad because they can’t do the things I can do. Every year, around summertime, my best friend Lily and I do a lemonade stand to raise money for people who can’t afford the things that they need to survive. I really enjoyed doing this because all along I thought about all the money that would go to homeless people.
