The House

My name is Mimi. You might be wondering why I am writing this. Okay, let’s go all the way back to the beginning. It all began in the dead center of the night when I woke up to a strange, loud noise. My mom, Lily, came rushing into my room. Mom said that the fire alarm was going off so we ran outside. I literally had no idea what a ‘fire alarm’ was, so I asked Addison, my older sister, what a fire alarm was when we are outside, she taught me about the ‘fire alarm’, then Mom and Dad went to Neighbour Fran’s house to call 911. Thankfully, Neighbour Fran had 2 spare rooms that she let us stay in. That meant that Addison and I shared a room like usual, and Mom and Dad shared a room also like normal. In the morning, we went out in search of a place to stay because our house was in ashes. Later that afternoon, Mom, Dad, Addison and I went out for dinner. Since it was my turn to pick where to go, I chose my favourite restaurant, East Side Mario’s. To me, it felt like a home, with it being nice and warm and it smelled so good! After dinner, we went to a long-term hotel that was pretty nice and wasn’t that expensive. The next morning, we had breakfast in the hotel, and then we went shopping for clothes. Thankfully, Mom and Dad both had their wallets. Then, we went to really nice people called ‘Habitat For Humanity’ and they said that they would try their hardest to get a house for us. A year later, then a really nice person named Angela, from Habitat For Humanity, said that we had done an amazing job helping and that it was ready! The next week, we moved into our beautiful, amazing home! That is why I wrote this story, so everyone can hear the GREAT works of Habitat For Humanity!
