What is Home

What is home? Home can be anything or anywhere. Home can be good or bad. But for me home is where my family is; home is the place where I feel safe and loved. I feel I can be whoever I want to be. I love my home. Home smells heavenly like fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. They are sweet, but they can be a little salty. My home is like those cookies where someone might snap at each other followed by “I love you”. Home looks like a family having a fire in the woods and my dog begging for food. The fire keeps us warm on the outside while the memories will keep us warm on the inside. Home sounds like my family and my laughs and giggles at terrible dad jokes like “I have a joke to tell about pizza but it's too cheesy”. Home also sounds like my dog barking at our friends coming in through the door. Home feels like a soft warm blanket that if you hide under it will keep all the darkness away and keep you safe forever. Home tastes like cooked dinner on Sunday which is amazing. With the potatoes we grew from our garden and the carrots that no one eats and the salt meat that is just right. Oh and we can't forget about the turkey that took all morning to cook. Home isn't perfect, but that is why I love it so much.
