For the Homeless, Love is Home
For the Homeless, Love is Home - by Evelyn Carson
Today I will be talking about what home means to me. It all started with a seed. Me and my sister looked after the plants and in the fall we had lots of squash. We sold them at our lemonade stand and people gave us lots of money. I went to a thrift store and bought lots of jakits, toothbrushs, gloves and more. Then I went with my sister and dad on a drive. We gave all the jakits to people living in tents by the river bank.
When we gave it to them there eyes shined and then they smiled and they said thank you! They liked the jakits we gave them but I think they mostly cared that we came to talk to them and we saw them. They probably felt loved and like they belong in Winnipeg. That is what home means to me.
