Home is Where I Belong
O my dear home,
If you weren't there
How would I live without fear?
I love you to the moon and back,
You are like superheroes who care!
Without you,
I wouldn't feel Protected out there!
There's family and love
And friends can come
For a party and play here.
O my dear home,
What would I do without you?
You keep me safe and sound
Inside, you give a very nice view!
Snow or rain outside?
I don't need to have a clue.
When at home I feel warm,
I dance, I sleep, I drink, and chew.
Dirty bugs and lizards outside,
can't come inside, phew!
You're a friend, loyal and true
Everyone should have a home,
Whether old or new!
Do you remember your childhood? Like fighting with your siblings, playing outside and sleeping in your mother’s lap or waking up with pink toothbrush in the bathroom and your dad yelling wake up! Where did you do all of this?
Your Home! That place where you can use the bathroom in peace, dance like a maniac and just be you! Everyone has a unique and different home they fit in. For me, my home in India was where I fit in. There I had my friends, my family and everyone and everything I knew was left there! Then, we had to move, to Canada. I was very sad, I didn’t want to leave my friends and family! But after about four years here, I made new friends here. I think I fit in two places now. That is my home in India, where I grew up and my home in Canada where I am growing up now. At first, I didn’t recognize much of the culture, thankfully, my friends and family helped me and my parents. When I went to school it was scary and odd at first but soon I felt comfortable, thanks to my classmates and teachers. After a while we got our first actual house. It was weird having a different house other than my Indian one, but just like my Canadian school I got comfortable there too.
Home is not a place but a feeling. Wherever you feel comfortable, that is your home, your peace and most importantly a part of….. YOU!
