What Home Means to Me
What home means to me
“Home” what a powerful word. It can mean so many things. It can mean family, warmth, safety, friendship, happiness, sorrow, relaxation, caring, calm, special and love. It can mean so much for so many people but to me home means...
Love
Home means laughing and crying, hugging and dancing, playing volleyball in the back yard and baking cookies in the kitchen. Love is hanging out with the people you like such as family and friends, curling up in a cozy blanket and drinking hot chocolate on the couch while you watch a movie with your dog, or just doing something you love. What I love is hockey so last year my dad made me and my older brother a rink in our back yard. My brother and I played on it all the time. Some nights we would invite all of our family and friends out to play a game.
Another part of home is the feelings and memories. That is a big part. Like when you walk in the door after a long day of work or school and you're exhausted, hungry and a bit angry because you got that one question wrong. So, you walk to the kitchen to get a snack and your grandma just dropped off some homemade chocolate chip cookies. Go to grab one and the one and then the feelings and memories come back. You remember when you were 6 and it was a cold, snowy day. So, you and your grandma made her famous chocolate chip cookies. When your dad got home from work you gave him one and he said that it was the best cookie he ever had. Then u look over at the fridge and you see the hand turkey u made in kindergarten and more memories came back. Anyways, what I'm saying is that there are lots of memories in every home and each memory comes along with feelings such as happiness, sadness, anger and more.
One of my favorite parts of home are the people in it because you can always be with someone in your home. Whether it's a friend you invited over or a pet or your mom or dad or brother or siter. Anyone you want in your home.
And that is what home means to me
