A House I Call Home

A House I Call Home By Isabella Peluso First to wake on Saturday morning, Downstairs there’s peace and quiet, No need to fight for anything. I have my space, No need to share. Perched on my island chair, The sun shining through the big windows, I can almost feel the warm air. My sister stumbles down the stairs squinting. We play games, laugh and smile together. Soon, there is the smell of food being prepared. We invite people over to eat, swim and play, To gather and spend time together, To talk, laugh and sometimes fight a little. We make new lasting memories, And reminisce about old ones. Day fades into night, We say our goodbyes and give hugs and kisses. My house, A place where I feel safe, and can be myself, Made of concrete, steel, wood and stone, My favourite place in the world! A house that I call home!
