What Home Means To Me
A good house is built on a strong foundation! For me, a home’s foundation is built on respect for each other, having fun and a peaceful environment. A house is where we just live, whereas home is a shelter which provides comfort and protection with heat, electricity and clean water. It is the place where I feel comfortable, relaxed, awesome, free, happy, and have the best memories! I keep thinking about how lucky I am to have a home and all the people out there who do not.
I believe what home means to me is in my hand. Home is where my family comes together and has the best days of my life. Home is as simple as where my grandma knit me nice llama comfortable pajamas in my favourite colour. Home to me is when I come back from school and my dog greets me, jumps and licks me on the face and we play in the snow in the backyard and roll all over the place without any worry. It is a place where we are able to socialize with others.
The place where I get support and advice for my future that aids me to survive and learn to rise to the top! The place where I get inspired by learning from my elders and their experience. It is also a place where I learn about my culture.
Home is not a thing, not a person, it is the place I adore and I am grateful to have a home. I love my home! I refuse to see so many people without homes. According to the UN sustainable global goals, one goal is toward reducing inequality which also means providing homes to those who don't have one. Let's work together!
