To Give to all a Home
I am fighting to stay alive,
These pills pretend to be my friend.
No home, no life, no family.
I’ll be trapped here till the end.
I cannot see through the darkness,
This smoke is smothering me.
Stuck in a cycle I cannot break,
I struggle to get myself free.
Through the looming shadows,
I see no loving light,
No place, no bed, no blankets
For me to sleep in at night.
I lay cold, and secluded,
Without a proper home.
My mind, lost and drifting,
The open streets I roam.
But as my vision fades,
A shimmer of hope I see.
The plan to give a house to all,
A Habitat For Humanity.
And my heart starts beating strong again.
As warmth comes back to me.
A promise that seemed impossible.
Have I found a home, finally?
To give love, and shelter,
What a real home should be,
With friends, aunts, cousins,
Or just close family.
What I was always lacking
I have been given, at last.
Look forward to the future,
But try to fix the past.
And with the help of all,
We can save the ones in need
So, aid the Habitat,
And do the world a deed.
Humanity will burn bright,
Like a star in the night,
If we keep up our fight,
To make change, and make it right.
