Meaning of Home
Home isn’t just a place. It is somewhere where you can feel safe, love and be loved. Home is where memories are made. To me when I think of home I feel all happy inside. I think of somewhere where I can just be myself. Home is filled with comfort and joy.
Every day after school I go home and pet my cat. I let her soft silky fur run over my fingers and I feel at home.
I feel at home in my little prairie town. Filled with friendly people and smiling faces. Every time someone says “hello”, I feel at home.
When I am on the baseball diamonds listening to the ball ting off the bat or the thump of the ball hitting the catcher's glove, I feel at home.
At school when I see my friends smiling faces or a teacher says “good job”, I feel happy and proud. I also feel at home.
When I am outside running on the grass feeling it tickle my bare feet and breathing in the fresh air, I feel at home.
In Canada, a place full of crops and fields, mountains and lakes, poutine and maple syrup, I feel at home.
Home isn’t just a place, it's a feeling. It is somewhere you love to be. Somewhere that you feel safe. Somewhere where you go when you are sick. Somewhere that fills you with hope and faith. That is the meaning of home.
