My Home
Home is the place where everyone should be included, the place where everyone keeps their secrets, faith, and soul, the place where you must be lucky to have someone to take care of you. You see, having seven siblings is a lot to handle so when the yelling starts to happen I just want to shut my ears. In my head, I remind myself: Life isn’t fair, Fardoza. Living in an apartment is not so easy when you have seven siblings, your mind would pop with how loud our home is. My home has three rooms because my family and I live in an apartment. I have lived in an apartment since I was born. I am really grateful that I have a roof over my head and some company with my family and friends.
Whenever I see my brothers welcoming me home, it makes me feel like I'm included. They sometimes run around the hallway when someone opens the door and my sisters and I have to chase them and bring them back to the apartment. The people that mostly remind me of home are my sisters. They always talk nonstop and they will argue who gets to talk to me first.
Another place that feels like home is the place where my sisters and I go to learn about the Islamic bible, which is the Quran. We also learn to read and write Arabic there.
Edmonton, Alberta is also my home, it is the place where my family and I have fun in places that we have never been before. The place where my dad took my siblings and I to see the downtown Edmonton lights, and the place where my family and I enjoy the beauty of the blue sky.
The feelings at home are different for everyone but mostly I feel happiness and kindness moving from head to toe. Home is very different for people that have disabilities which is fine because they are human beings. People have the right to a home. Some people have issues in their lives but it's right to give people what they need because everyone should have equity. In my religion, which is Islam, we give people what they need. It reminds me of a video where a girl gave her jacket to a homeless girl. They are teaching all the people around the world to give people what they need to be given. Home to me is a place where we can get what we need.
I hope that you learned that home is different to different people. I also hope you learned that home can be many places, and that home is where our needs are met. This life can be perfect even though life isn't fair. I wish that everyone has a good life with all their surroundings.
