I have more than one home
What does home mean to you?
For me, it means the heart of the family. Where you can come together as a family. By heart of the family I don't just mean mom, dad, sisters and brothers, I mean friends, cousins, grandparents, ants, uncles, and anyone else you hold close to your heart.
Some people confuse house and home, but by how heartfelt a home is and how a house is built they are very easy to tell apart. A home and a house are both built very differently. A house's foundation is built in the ground with brick, cement, and stone. A mones foundation is built in the heart of the family with love, compassion and care for family members.
My home with my family is where I feel accepted. This this home for me is, the stars in the night sky, the late night movies on new years eve, the smell of fresh air when i play with my dog, the smell of sweat running down my forehead after dance class, the smell of a burning bonfire with my grandparents in their backyard, the reel of my moms breath as she snuggles me when i have a night terror, the sound of the piano as i practice after school. This is my home.
A home is usually where you are meant to be comfortable. I love my home with my family but i also think that my dance studio is my home. My dance studio is where my friends are, where i feel comfortable. When I put on my ballet shoes, tap or jazz, I feel like I can be whoever I want to be. When i dance i get lost in the feelings of comfort and joy. This feels like my home.
