What Home Means to Me

When I wake up in the morning, in my lovely home, my parents start my day with, “I love you”. When I come downstairs to eat breakfast I see my mom holding my delicious sandwich. When we sit together at our dining table, we start good conversations. I go outside to jump on my trampoline and feel the fresh air. Then my parents start preparing lunch and I can smell flavourful curry heading towards my nose. We pack our food to have a picnic in our field. My mom always gives me the first bite. We eat lunch together and play. While going back home I ask my dad to carry me and the answer is always, “Yes”. When I get back home I play Snakes and Ladders with my parents. I cuddle with my little sister and I kiss her. She makes happy cooing sounds. For dinner, I ask my mom if we can have pizza, and my mom says, “Yes”. My mom orders my favourite pizza with my favourite toppings and sauce. We watch a TV show that we all enjoy and eat pizza. Then I help my parents to clean up. After my parents tuck me into the bed with hugs and kisses and they whisper, “I love you” in my ears. I close my eyes and think, "What a beautiful day today is”. I enjoy and cherish every day. My day starts and ends with, "I love you". I am grateful for a beautiful family and home. I hope everyone gets a good place to live. So I like how ‘Habitat for Humanity’ helps people to get a home which feels like mine.
