What is a Home?
What Is A Home? By: Aileen L. Gr.5
A home. When you think of a home, you think of a bedroom, kitchen, and a living room. A place you live in. You may think of a shelter too.
But there are many different ways to describe a home.
Maybe it’s the blanket on your bed that you used to get tucked in, before you drifted off to sleep.
Maybe it’s your mom cooking in the kitchen, or even baking together with her.
It may be the feeling of being squished onto the couch with a warm fire lit in the living room watching movies.
Or maybe it could be your father telling you scary stories past your bedtime.
Maybe it’s your older sister playing with you while your parents are out at night.
Or maybe waking up in the morning getting ready to go to school.
Home could really be anything for you.
For me, home is a place that has peace and love.
A place that guards your heart. Home is a place with family and friends who are there with comfort and support for you.
I can’t imagine growing up without a home. Growing up without shelter, or safety.
Unfortunately, some people aren’t able to grow up with this. That’s why if you have a home, you should be grateful for it. You should be grateful for everything you have, and the nice home you own.
Home is a different place for everyone. Maybe you don’t have a clear memory of it, or maybe you do.
So think about it, when you imagine home, what do you see?
