The Four Seasons of Home

My home in the summer is the smell of popsicles and chlorine from the pool. My home in the summer is the sound of the AC humming. My home in the summer looks vibrant and cozy, like a beach towel that’s forever soft. My home in the summer feels like the rough and delicious cone of my ice cream. My home in the summer is filled with love, sweat and more love. And that’s summer to me. My home in spring is the smell of flowers, blooming through the house. My home in the spring is the smell of wet concrete outside after it rains. My home in the spring is the feeling of the drops of dew on bloomed flowers. My home in the spring looks vibrant and colourful like the flowers emerging from the dirt. My home in the spring is filled with love, rain and more love. And that’s spring to me. My home in the autumn is the smell of dry leaves and pumpkins. My home in the autumn is the smell of hot chocolate, warming us as we come in from the frigid outdoors. My home in the autumn is filled with the sound of rustling leaves. My home in the autumn feels like fire, scary, strong, but beautiful. My home in the autumn is filled with love, scented candles and more love. And that’s autumn to me. My home in the winter is the smell of gingerbread, as my mom bakes cookies. My home in the winter is the sound of crinkling wrapping paper, we wrap presents for their loved ones. My home in the winter is filled with love, snow and more love. And that’s winter to me. Love, love, love and love are the four seasons of my home, and I love it.
