HOME IS ME

HOME IS ME BY OBEHI.O Home is a lot of things. It is a special thing! That feels different to everyone. Home. From the minty smell of air freshener to the smell of black beans and half cooked eggs. From toast burning in the toaster to wet feet, and farts that mix with the garbage, which should be thrown out by now. Farts, Garbage, Eggs, Beans, Toast. Home The sound of the bright green garbage truck picking up garbage. While the neighbor’s kids scream, as jazz music plays in the background. To the sound of people fighting about vanilla vs. chocolate ice cream. Ice cream, vanilla, jazz, green. Home The beautiful ocean and forest paintings, with every stroke of paint carefully placed. And my poster collection with bright colors, and cute animals. As I lay on my gray couch while I doodle in my book. Book, gray, cute, color ocean. Home The taste of warm freshly made dinner with cold soda and brain freezes that are worth it. The sweet taste of cereal in the morning to wake me up. Sweet, freeze, crunch, warm. Home The cool winter breeze that sends chills to my skin, while I click the remote changing from channel to channel. The soft bouncy feeling of my bed as I lay on it, and the cold floor that I step on. Cold, soft, click, cool. Home The feeling that I am loved and appreciated for every little thing you do. To be listened to, be found interesting by people who love you. It makes you feel lucky for everything you have, it’s chaotic but so calm at the same time. Every person on earth deserves to feel these feelings so I hope that one day everyone can feel the feelings of home.
