The Meaning of Home
The dictionary says
That home is just a place,
But I think home is more
Than just some random space.
Home feels like comfort,
Snuggled in a cozy quilt.
All curled up with my family,
In the love that we all built.
Home sounds like laughter,
The most enthusiastic sound.
My dad telling a witty joke,
Me cackling on the ground.
Home smells like fresh muffins,
The ones that my mom makes.
She’ll spend her whole day making them
So I don’t have to bake.
Home looks like a massive smile,
A grin that splits my face.
I smile a silly smirk,
Knowing this is my safe space.
Home tastes like a bowl of chips,
Which I tend to refill twice.
I gobble them up like a pig,
Then my stomach pays the price.
I’m grateful that I have a home,
And it’s my favourite place to be.
Now everyone can have one,
Thanks to Habitat for Humanity!
