What does "Home" mean?
Home is a place for the young and the old
A safe haven for some and a building made of bricks for others.
Home is more than one thing
A feeling, person, or community separate or all in one.
Home may be a country, a street, food, or sign.
If home were a season, it wouldn't only be one, it would be all four
Like Summer; lively and fun, a place to relax
You can nap in the warmth of the weather and the love
Like Autumn; always changing, things can start to fall apart
Arguments may happen, small or big, but that's part of life
Like Winter; it can be cold, quiet, and beautiful
The silence is no longer awkward for whoever you're with because they are your home.
And finally, like Spring; things start to thrive again, love blossoms
Friendships are rekindled, and families form and grow like sprouts.
Home could be the beach, the hot sand beneath your toes, and the wind blowing in your hair while you bathe in the sunlight
Home could be your mother's favorite dish, tomato egg soup
The sweet juicy tomato along with the slightly scrambled egg in the warm broth could make your eyes water as you think “this tastes like home”
Home could also be your community, the people you love
As you return to the orphanage and the orphanage cat runs up to you along with 4 other of your most loved friends, which you now consider siblings
Home could be your pet, the thing you look most forward to as you get off work, as they greet you at the door or you greet them in their cage, looking for warmth and cuddles, just like you.
For me, MY definition of home is the place I return to; the place filled with both my family and friends, the place where I relax and learn, where I am scolded by my family and nagged on to do chores. It is the place I love and the place that I will always carry in my heart.
As for you; the choice is yours. Make your own definition. Home can be whatever you want it to be. Maybe you still want to wait till further in life to find the definition, or maybe you already know it. Maybe you won't know the true meaning till the end.
However, everyone's eternal home is earth; and hopefully, it will be for years to come.
Let's take care of our planet and people because every living thing deserves a good home.
