The meaning of home
What’s the meaning of home? In the Oxford English Dictionary the definition of home; home means the place where one lives permanently. A place where something flourishes or from which it originated. But can a dictionary truly define what home means? Could a dictionary describe what home feels like for you and me? Does your home and my home mean different in my and your eyes? The meaning of home could mean anything depending on where you were raised, your house conditions, and even your culture. When I go to your neighbourhood it’s just a house, big houses, little houses, blue houses, and brown houses. The truth is it may just be a house to me. Despite my thoughts,
a home to somebody is is a place of comfort, safety, and relaxation. Everybody deserves a home. Everybody deserves a home, right? My home is my place of comfort. My favourite room is my parent’s bedroom. It's filled with so many of my memories. I have vivid memories in my mom and dad’s bedroom of movies, and immigrant stories, but to you, it may just be a huge master bedroom. That’s why Habitat to Humanity is so important, they give people a home, their utopia, their palace, their escape, their home.
