Homes Not Houses

Home is not just your house, it’s a place where you feel safe, warm, cheerful, having fun, and most importantly, loved. When I’m at school, I’m at home. I’m grateful for my school because all the friends and teachers make me feel safe. When I’m looking out the window, I’m at home. I’m grateful for the beautiful scenery because the trees calm me and it makes me feel warm. When I’m eating my grandma’s heavenly pie, I’m at home. I’m grateful for the food I have because it makes me feel cheerful. When I’m with my friends, I’m at home. I’m grateful for my friends because they always make me have fun. When I’m with my family, I’m at home. I’m grateful for my family because they make me feel loved. I hope soon everyone will have a house to be safe in, warm in, cheerful in, have fun in, and feel loved in. Some people might not have any of these things. They might not have a school to go to, a window to look out of, food to enjoy, and family to love. While they might not have these things there is one home that anyone can have if they want to…friends. I love my house and I am grateful for it. I'm happy to have more than one house, my mom’s and my dad’s. But those aren’t my only homes, there are an infinite amount of homes that I have. The thing that I want everyone to know is that everyone has homes, not houses.
