Home, Home, Home
A house is just a structure with rooms, walls, windows, doors, and a roof but home is a feeling. A home is where you share jokes, stories, feelings, and laughter or simply just go outside in your backyard to jump on the trampoline, or play football with your brothers. It’s when you get cozy on the couch waiting for the movie to start and you smell the buttery popcorn popping in the microwave. Once the movie is over you hop into bed knowing that you are safe and your neighbor's dog isn’t barking to wake you up. Also knowing that you can be yourself and nobody will make fun of you. Your house doesn’t have to be perfect with a big room, big backyard, or even a fancy kitchen. Your family doesn’t have to be perfect to have a home, a home is a feeling not a big house or perfect family. When I see the families without houses or homes I feel bad and I can't imagine living on the streets, in a car or possibly in a house that has bed bugs or cockroaches and that’s not a home. That's why Habitat for Humanity is here to help those families have a place they can call home. That's my meaning of HOME!
