Meaning of Home
Have you ever felt at home somewhere? If you have, what makes you feel at home? Today I will be telling you the things that make me feel at home.
Firstly, for me one of the things that make me feel at home is when I am with my family because me and my family are super close, it does not matter where we are because a house is only a building not a true home. Though for certain people who are homeless they do not even have a house, so it is hard for them to feel at home. They must be in the cold, in the rain and in the wind, even though a house is only a building it is still nice to have because it gives you a place to sleep and stay warm and it also feels safe. Most people need a house to be able to start feeling at home and relax.
Secondly, now that we are on that topic most homeless people cannot get a home because they cannot get a job. The reason they cannot get a job is because for most jobs you need a home address, but homeless people do not have a home address because they are well… homeless, and since they cannot get a job because they do not have a house they cannot pay for a house. Meaning they are stuck in a continuous cycle. So, we should have a housing first program in Canada. As in Canada should give them a house and help them deal with their problems after they get the house.
Lastly, one of the main things that make most people feel at home are memories. Good and bad memories help make a home. My reason for this statement is that memories bring people together, the good which people tend to celebrate together and the bad ones which people mourn together and comfort each other. For example, if someone in your family passes away it is incredibly sad, but it draws you all together and that helps make you closer and makes you feel more at home with your family. Now as an example, for good memories if you achieve something or someone else in your family achieves something you all would gather around and celebrate your or that person’s success, therefore that can help make you feel more at home in that place or with your family, that’s why memories make me feel at home.
In conclusion I hope I have shown you how family and memories can make you feel at home. I also hope I brought to your attention how big of a problem homelessness is. I am honored to have helped even if it is not much build a house for someone, I hope you enjoyed my writing thank you.
