My Definition of Home

My Definition Of Home Home is warm, like the embrace of a fire. The shelter keeps my gentle heart from shattering. The smell of fresh cookies baking. You may fight while inside, but it keeps out your enemies. I feel the love of those in my home, the ones that love me so. I feel the care the builders felt when they crafted my home. This is where I feel carefree and fun. I know that I have people that support me, The place that my family cares for me. This place reminds me I always belong. Sometimes I argue outside, But when I come home , my worries melt away. I have pressure balancing on my shoulders, Though while at home the weight turns to feathers. My family supports me, they make my home, home. My ancestors look down at me, They protect me and make sure I know what I do. My feelings are confidential, And at home I have a place where I keep my secrets. It’s stored in my room, a place I know is secret. I express my feelings, but sometimes I hide my thoughts. When not at home, the pressure of people's expectations scares me. At home you can see the world in more than black and white. Home is the place where you are always accepted. The place you will always end up at the end of the day. “Just be yourself and keep living life to its fullest”. I remind myself of this. While love spreads throughout the building, My home is where my heart powers me. My home is where the heart is, The place you always know about. A place you can never doubt. This is my definition of home… My friends, my family, my hobbies, my secrets Where I belong This is my home.
