What is a Home?
A house is a strong structure designed for families to live in. It’s the people we live with that make our house, a home. In my opinion, a home is not just a place for living, it is a place to make memories with our loved ones. The love and care from our family makes us feel safe, secure and protected.
In most homes, pets and people like mom, dad, siblings, grandparents and other relatives make the house into a home. These people love, care and play together. My parents and brother give me a big, warm hug and kiss and say, “I love you,” when I wake up in the morning, and before I go to sleep at night. When I get sick, they tell me to rest and they take care of me, until I feel better. Moreover, when I am feeling sad, they will make a joke to make me laugh, then I don’t feel sad anymore. Friday night is always family movie night. We also play board games together like clue, monopoly, taboo and many more. Further more, I feel comfortable to share with my family all the good things that happen to me, as well as, the bad things.
For these reasons, a home is more than a structure; it’s a place where we love, care and play with our loved ones. A home is also a warm feeling that we get inside, since we are supported, respected, and given a secure place to share our thoughts and feelings. My family makes me feel safe and protected. These memories that we create at home when we love, care and play with one another, I will cherish forever. After all, home is where my heart is.
