The Meaning Of Home
Home isn’t just my house but an important part of my life
The place where I can hope for my dreams and set meaningful goals. The place I feel warm air from the heater against my skin, where the soft and sweet smell of the rose-scented candles can be smelled at every corner. The amazing aroma of the cheesy homemade pizza cooking in the oven, the sweet taste of warm white hot chocolate on a snowy winter evening. The cool breeze of the fan cooling the house on a warm summer day. The fizzing of traditional snacks being made on Diwali. The cute and peaceful chirping of small birds. The buzzing in my backyard where the bees are making sweet honey. The bright light of the sun gleamed in my house early in the morning. I feel important, loved and cared about.
Home. The community where I can spend my free time exploring. The loud sounds of kids screaming at school. The sweet taste of bubble gum ice cream melted slowly in my mouth—the place where I sit down with my friends and eat sweet and sugary flavoured freezies. I can feel the soft grass where I play with my friends—the competitive soccer games at the park. The important life tips the teachers teach me. The beautiful trail where I can go on a calm and peaceful walk. The crunching of the beautiful red and yellow leaves under my feet. I feel positive and important.
Home. A city where I can never be bored because of the activities in it. I can enjoy watching the Kitchener Rangers, I can be able to find any type of food because of how many different restaurants there are located. The many different organizations that can help you when you need help. The many different sports teams that I can try out for because I like sports. The many kids participating in the track and field trying to get the 1st place ribbon. The sound of splashing water when I go swimming at the pool. I feel joyful and active.
Home. Ontario is the 2nd biggest province in Canada. Where the Canadian parliament is located. The place has many beautiful lakes and rivers to explore. The many different monuments and statues of many important Canadians. The huge waterfalls splashing and creating a huge “sploosh”. The tall CN tower conquering the Toronto skyline. The Algonquin national park, where many different animals and plants are preserved. I feel small and safe.
Home. Canada is the second biggest country in the world. Where the reindeer roam around. I can taste the sweet maple syrup on my tongue. I can see Niagara Falls. I can feel the soft and cold snowflakes fall on my moist skin. I can smell the fresh smell of poutine in the air. I can hear the loud cheers of the Canadians when they scored in the world cup. The place that is welcoming to anyone in the world. The sound of the Canadians proudly singing the national anthem. I feel proud and thankful
Habitat For Humanity. The organization helps other people experience what a home is. Where you can feel happiness while donating the tiniest amount of money. Where you can see the tears in the eyes of someone when they get a home from the many donations from people. The organization that I can be proud to support and help someone get a home. I feel considerate and thoughtful.
