What Home Means to Me
What home means to me
Home means a lot to me, starting from times with my family, and others like when I'm angry. But a home also means 4 walls and a roof because some people don't have homes. I am grateful to eat at a table, to have a nice family, a bed, and my own room. The parts I love about my home are helping my parents cook, cleaning the house with my family, and playing games with my 3 siblings. I am lucky to live in an amazing house on a nice street.
To me, Home can mean resting, relaxing, sleeping, gaming, and having fun. The best part about my home is my culture. I am from Ethiopia so I get to have fun Ethiopian celebrations, eat authentic Ethiopian dishes, and dress up in traditional clothes. In other people's minds, their home might not mean a lot but in mine, it means so much important parts of my home where I live because( if I live in a dangerous neighborhood) my family and I can get hurt, or if I live in a place with no friends or no soccer fields there would be nothing to do. My neighborhood is amazing, I have friends that are a walking distance away, I have a soccer field and basketball court nearby, I have restaurants that I like that are close to me, and the most important part is that my neighborhood is extremely safe. I like to walk into my house, take a big breath of air through my nose and say home sweet home. The fine smell of my house is like lavender or food that my parents are cooking, it’s peaceful and quiet, and it feels amazing with a fine detailed carpet and cozy sofa, it looks nice and clean, and the food my mom and dad make tastes amazing. I think everyone deserves to live in a nice home, and that is what habitat for humanity is doing.
