What is home to me?

Home doesn’t have to be a place, it can be anything. However, for me home is a place where I can rest from a long day of school. Where I’m not being judged, and where I’m comfortable and where I can be myself. It is where the smell of cooking and the sizzle of fresh food can be heard, from up in my room at the desk where I sit, listening to music while playing on my iPad. Until my mom calls me down for dinner. Me and my family all sit at the old wooden table with the hot and delicious food on mats to prevent stains from forming on the table. While the big TV plays sports or the news as the piping hot rice comes out of the rice cooker into my bowl with meat and vegetables. The savoury taste lasts in my mouth for a few minutes until the food’s all digested in my stomach. The pasting of feet outside and the cupping of the birds fill my ears as the people in my neighbourhood go out for a stroll all bundled up in warm clothes to keep out the cold as I get ready for school. My school, where all of my friends are and where I learn and play, outside and inside. My school is like a second home to me, it’s where I socialize and interact with my friend. It’s Where I talk and laugh with my friends as well as making new friends. It’s a place where I feel safe and content. My school, my house, is all in my community. My community always helps each other when someone needs help. That is what home means to me.
