The Meaning of Home
Home
Where I feel welcomed and safe
It’s the best place
Where I feel free to be me
It’s where my family surrounds me
Home
When the wind howls, the breeze blows
While I’m cuddling under the soft blankets
Sipping a mug of of hot chocolate
Home
Where memories live and grow
Where my true self can show
It’s where I feel loved
It’s when I’m free
Home
Where nothing else matters
But my family and me
It’s where a scent of my mom’s food fills the room
Where my siblings play, and sing too.
Home isn’t a place, but a feeling.
It can go around with you.
You can feel at home away from a house, but a house can be your home.
The meaning of home isn’t the painted walls or the giant halls. It’s the love, laughter and the people that surround you.
It’s what makes you feel at home. Home is where you feel safe, loved and valued. Where you grow up is where you feel at home.
Home is unique for all of us.
Many things can mean home for you, and I have my perspective of home too.
Home for me is hearing the soft sound of a bird flapping their wings. They then whistle their song and others join along.
Home is at school, with my teachers and friends.
Home is where the fun never ends.
Home is where I can be me and you can be you.
Home is where everyone crowds the view.
The sight of the new fallen snow. The snow that glistens and glows.
The smiles on our faces are big and bright.
The happiness you see, a beautiful sight.
There’s magic in the air.
But much more than once a year
When the leaves fall and the air goes cool
You’ll be sure to know that autumn’s coming soon.
This is home for me, with my friends and family.
My home is this neighbourhood, this city, and this country.
Home, my favourite place to be.
