A Day in the Life of Home
Home, home, home is where the heart is.
Home is forever, home is for always.
Home, home is a four-letter word,
Like a warm sunray or a chirping bird.
A warm bed with bright coloured sheets,
or a cute camper van with music to dance to the beat.
Wake up at the peak of the morning hour,
bacon, toast and eggs are ready to be devoured.
Taking long hours, getting your face on,
But when you come out you’re ready to take the day on!
The smell of fresh mud and flowers outside,
Although, there are a few rules that we must abide by.
The sight of mess puts me under stress.
The kids find some makeup,
and come out not looking their best.
Red, yellow, green and blue,
the whole rainbow right in front of you.
A brother, a sister, a step-mom and dad,
Grandparents, parents, all things good and bad.
Home is love, Home is kind.
I need to use the bathroom. Oh, nevermind.
A family movie night where it gets too gory,
or a safe, quiet place where you won't have to worry.
A fridge full of food, ready to be prepared,
and there's always someone there in case you get scared.
Home is warm and fuzzy.
Home is many feelings,
like a ripe orange ready for peeling.
If you keep some love with you all day,
evil things will come, but, you say “No way!”
The feel of a fuzzy warm blanket or a soft leather couch,
and when you get in trouble,
you may have siblings to vouch.
Home is a loud space. Home is a quiet space.
A home is a sharing place, Home is a caring place.
A memory foam bed or a foldable couch,
in through your nose and out through your mouth.
You are getting ready to be tucked in.
You’re welcomed to dreamland, come in, come in!
Go to sleep when your eyes shut tight!
Then turn over comfortably and say Good Night!
