Home: What Home Means To Me
Home, what does home mean to you? Perhaps feeling loved, comforted, appreciated and maybe safe. Perhaps for you it's not the feeling, it's the sound. Movie night. The sound of your family screaming from the horror movie and then one second later, laughter and realizing the movie is not real.
What is the difference between a house and a home?
In order to switch a house to a home a house needs one thing: a family. When a family moves into the house then that house becomes your new home.
What if your home is your neighborhood or maybe even your town? Your home does not have to be where you sleep. For me my second home is my desk at school, talking with my friends and my classmates during my snack and lunch time.
But what if you go to your neighbors to visit every day when you come home from school. That might be your second home. Or maybe you go to your friend's house, that could also be your second home.
If I am the only one writing for Habitat for Humanity (which I am not) one person alone is sometimes hard to make a change. Although when we all try to make a difference it is a lot easier. For example, just me alone will only give Habitat for Humanity $10 but when my whole grade (approximately 60 kids) we can make a difference and help Habitat for Humanity.
