A House and a Home Are Different Things

One cold winter night a little girl all cozy in her bed asked, “Mom, can you tell me a story?” Her mom said, “Now but it’s so late.” “Please,” said the girl. “Okay,” said the mom. Then the girl added, "Can it be about you?” Then her mom started the story with “Once Apon a time there was a family with a little girl.” The girl interrupted, "Was that girl you?” “Yes, that girl was me.” “The little girl had a family that loved her and a lot of close friends. Then one day that all changed. It started with Sweetie, I am sorry, but your father got a job far away from our home, so we will have to move. Then I said to them, “But this is my home.” Your grandma said, “This is not our home it is just our house; home is not just a place it is where your family and friends are. We will still have a house and we will be closer to all your family members, and you can see them every day." After that talk I moved away. I ended up with many friends and I was happy there, but one day when I was driving home from work, I saw a family in need of help. I ended up helping them and now to this day my job is to help people in need.” “Good night mom,” said the girl. “Good night. See you in the morning", said the mom.
