That Special Feeling
My home cannot be grounded. A home is not just a structure, but a house is. My home is my family right there with me, like a shield around me, protecting me from the thunder and darkness of the world.
The fresh, icy, cold mango smoothie my mom puts her tender love and care into and gives me after a long day at school. The pegs underneath the cribbage board rustle as I munch on warm, buttery popcorn. The room fills up with laughter, not a care in the world.
The memories that last a lifetime. Playing soccer with my dad, as if we were in the world cup! Me and my mom, watching our favourite cooking show! My cat snuggles up against me on my favourite fluffy blanket when I am feeling sick, and I can feel my pain melt away.
My school feels like a 2nd home, teachers who care, friends who listen and a place to grow. My learning is so important! It sticks with me forever and goes on the journey of life alongside me.
Habitat For Humanity is important because they help families have homes that they can call their own. But it’s not just a handout, it’s a hand up.
Home is like tears of pain and joy. Home is one thing nothing can destroy.
