The Meaning Of Home
The Meaning Of Home By Bridget!
What would the world be like without a home? Where would we be without all the people we love? Who would care for us and help us go through difficult situations?I think we all know just how bad that would be. It would be absolutely horrible. We would all be so lonely without someone to help you or care for you if you're hurt. I can tell you all about what home means to me in this essay.
To me, home means everything. It’s encouragement, love, hope, joy and peace. Home is my everything. At home, you don’t care who sees you cry. You don’t care who sees you laugh till your stomach hurts and you don’t care who sees you in your ridiculous Christmas onesie. At home, you don’t keep things from each other. You have to rely on each other or you’ll crash down and throw a giant tantrum. You have to speak to each other and not leave each other in the dark. You have to be there for each other and let your family know what’s going on. That’s what home means to me.
To me, home means help sometimes. You have to help each other with homework and cleaning the kitchen. In the mornings, me and my little sister, Maeve, clean the kitchen together. We don’t always get along, but I love her. And with my older sister, Lila, we used to do the same thing that me and Maeve now do together. In a family, we all do a job. My parents clean the house and put food on the table. My sisters and I clean in the morning and make jokes to lighten the mood. We all do something to make it all work. We’re like gears on a bicycle, if one is broken or hurt we have to help them get better. This is what home means to me.
To me, home is fun. In my house, we almost always have music or a funny show on. We all love laughing, and we all love sports. Sometimes, you feel most at home when you’re not actually there. For me it feels like home on the basketball court or lacrosse field. But for others, well, their home might be a library or school or a park. I’m lucky to have such an amazing family and I know that others aren’t as fortunate. I don’t know where I’d be without them. They have taught me how to be me and they are why I’m who I am. I need them and I forever will. This is the meaning of home to me.
