What home means to me

A home to everybody means something different. To me a home is not like a house. A home is where memories are made, Memories with the people you love most, it doesn’t have to be family, it could be friends. A home to me has this feeling, it makes you safe and comfortable, It makes you feel loved and accepted, It also makes you feel welcomed into that space, A home gives you respect and acceptance. A home will always have people whether they are there or not. A house has walls, made out of different materials that could mean anything to anyone. It has a roof that sometimes people can sit on and watch the sunset as another day ends and the sunrise as a new day begins. A house has windows. You can look out the window to see kids and families all laughing and having a good time. A house keeps you warm in the winter when it is chilly outside. A house keeps you safe from harm. A house makes you feel comfortable. A home is where my friends come over and we talk and have fun all together. At home I feel safe and comfortable telling my parents stuff. I get home from school and see my dad each day, Sitting and doing his job. He always says hello. Home doesn't last forever, but family and love last for infinity. That's what home means to me.
