Home Sense
When I think of home, I
SMELL, The savoury scent of soup that fills the air when you open the front door after a hard hockey practice on the outdoor rink or the salted buttery popcorn made just for snack, jumping into my bowl.
HEAR, The sound of loud, loving laughter echoing through the house or waking up to the sizzling salty bacon and crack of a fresh farm egg.
FEEL, Flickering flames in the fireplace as it heats up the room on a cold winter night or slipping in between the cozy, comfy blankets as you drift off to sleep.
SEE, the sight of the big, beautiful backyard bucks jumping over the fence into the frosted frozen forest or the twinkle of the stars shining down from the sky on a clear summer night.
TASTE, Tangy toasted taters fresh out of the oven to the dinner table dipped in ketchup or delight in the cherry chocolate cake that disappears too quickly off my plate.
When I think of home, I think of love.
