When you ask me what a home is to me. I would say four different answers. First I would say home is a warm summer day with a soft summer breeze cooling me down. In my hand I hold a lavender popsicle, then I look at the charcoal black fence blocking me from the pond. In the blue sparkling water I see a ripple and a beaver pops his or her head out of the water in its fire red teeth it holds a brown twig and soon dives under again leaving a ring of water. Or I would say home is a autumn day the sound of rakes raking a big pile make me remember the good turkey dinner we just had with so much family we had to have 2 tables! My bigger cousins shout “We're done!” I look over and start running toward the red, orange and yellow leaf pile. I jump and land in the monstrous leaf pile. When I emerge it seems like the whole leaf pile is in my hair!I would also say home is a winter day with snow falling gently as I get my outside clothes on. I open the back door and step outside. I see the gigantic hill “at least a 20 foot drop.” I say to myself, having second thoughts. But my feet didn't. They walked all the way to the hill and made me put the sled down. I count down 3…2…1…0 I pushed myself down the hill faster and faster until I reached the bottom and almost face planted. “I did it I did it!" I cheer myself on. Then I grabbed my sled and headed up for round 2. Finally I would say home is a spring morning. I wake up and look out the window on a clear blue day. Perfect.I raced down stairs. The warm smell of crapes smelled awesome. I look outside when my belly is full. I gasp “guys come and look!” My whole family sister, brother, mom and dad come and look at 2 geese and their ducklings are waddling around in our backyard. This is the perfect spring morning I think to myself. And I was right. I think everyone should have a place where they feel secure and welcome.
