Home
“Home”, for me is one of the most important things in my life. Not the structure made from bricks, but the structure made from loving relationships between friends and family. It is wherever I feel loved and comforted by the people I love.
For example, one summer me and my friends went to buy a bunch of snacks, went to a park, sat down and just started talking while eating the things we bought, normal right? Well, when looking back at that day, I realised how important those times with just being with my friends and family is to me. I was so happy just to be able to sit and talk because I felt so comforted and loved by my friends, I feel like I could do that forever.
I’ve taught my self to cherish those memories where I feel most at “home”, whether they’re normal everyday things, like the story I told, or if they are important events such as family gatherings. I started to cherish those memories when I realised how fast time was moving, from when I was still a baby to now. I realised how much of your life you can miss if you don’t realise how many things you take for granted, that’s why I’ve started remembering times like that in my heart.
To me, that is what “home” is.
