What Home Means to Me

Hello! My name is Savanah Klassen. What’s the difference between a house and a home? Easy. A home isn’t a house. [Well sometimes, anyway.] I am going to tell you about how memories are made at home, how family helps a house feel like a home, and the similarities and differences of a house’s structure and a home’s structure. Now, let’s get into detail! Home doesn’t have to be a house, it’s a place where you feel loved and live. A home’s structure and a house’s structure are different because: a house you build out of wood, metal, concrete, e. but a home is built out of love, joy, happiness. A home ’s and a house’s similarities and differences are they are both built/ made of something. They’re both something you live in. Those are the similarities and differences of a home. Family helps a house feel like a home because: they make you feel important, they live with you, [sometimes] and you love them. Family loves you because you’re they’re family. Your family lives with you when your young because your parents take care of you. You love your family because they love you. Family+ Love = Home. It is hard to not love someone who doesn’t love you. It is also hard not to love someone who loves you. That is why family helps a house to feel like a home. I am going to tell you how memories are made at home. Three of my favourite memories are: when my baby sister started walking, when I had my 9th birthday party with my cousins, and when my rabbit Pearl had babies. My rabbit Pearl had babies two Christmas’s ago. They were born almost exactly on Christmas, but we didn’t know they were born until 2 weeks later. Their names were: Dart, Ribbon, Coal, Holly, Ivy and Snowflake. That was important because I love animals. When I had a sleepover for my ninth birthday I invited my cousins Emmy and Charli, but only Emmy came. When she came, we played for a while than we had supper. Then we watched a movie called Little Rascals Save the Day. In the middle we had cake and I opened my presents. I got a Warriors book, 3 bottles nail polish, candy and a purse. When the movie was over, we got ready for bed and we slept on the mattress. In the morning we got up and went to church and Emmys parents picked her up. That was important because it was for my birthday. My baby sister started walking when she was about a year and two months. At first, she only walked a few steps, but now she tries to run. That was important because we wanted her to walk. We’ve talked about how memories are made at home, how a houses structure and a homes structure are different and similar, and why family helps a house feel like home. A home is a place where you feel happy and connected. Home is a place where you love and feel loved. This is what home means to me. What does home mean to you?
