My Home, Your House
Home is a place where I feel loved and safe.
Crowding around my shabbat table. Smelling the warm, yummy perfect challah. Hearing the soft and gentle voices singing all the prayers. Feeling the soft silky kippah on my head. Seeing the table set so nicely. Tasting the warm, soft and delicious challah in my mouth. Home is not just a place, home is about the people you share it with.
Saturday night is movie night. I feel my nice and caring family cuddled up by my side. I smell the buttery popcorn in my hands. I see the T.V. screen go black then burst with colour. I hear the voices on the screen. I taste the popcorn I’m stuffing in my mouth. My home might just be a house to you, but to me it’s where memories are made. Where we share joy, laughter and sometimes tears. I could not imagine what I would do if I did not have a place to call home.
